Climate crisis: are we on the path to disaster?

As the UNEP (UN Environment Program) as just released the Emissions Gap Report for 2023, we must contemplate the fact that global CO2 emissions keep growing when they should be decreasing rapidly. The image above demonstrates clearly how far we are from reaching the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Are we being greenwashed?

Businesses have never talked more about sustainability, and it’s hard to find a large corporation that does not have a net zero ambition for 2050. So why are emissions stil going up? There is evidently more talking than doing, and for most, growth is more important than climate.

A textbook example is the aviation industry that is going to reach a all time high 4.5 billion passengers boarded in 2024.

Citizens must put pressure

At Sustainyfacts, we believe that it is necessary for citizens to put pressure on policy makers and corporations, to push for changes that will drive us back on the path of the Paris Agreement.

This is why we are working on making it easy for everyone to see the facts hidden the greenwashing machines. We want every consumer, every investor, every citizen, to be able to check if a company or a brand is doing its fair share of the effort necessary to avoid the climate disaster that we are going towards.
